With Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and petrol-bombs in 15 Hilux vehicles and motorcycles, unknown gunmen suspected as the Boko Haram sect attacked a mosque in Buni/Gari town in Damaturu and and killed 17 people with the torching of several houses in the early hours of Saturday.

Analysts say, Buni/Gari is about six kolimetres south of the Federal Government College, where about 29 students were slain some time last month.

According to Osundefendernewsmen who covered the event, the gunmen came through Biu road chanting God is great in Arabic, before shooting sporadically at the people in the mosque at dawn prayers.

Hence, violence, tension and explosion took over Yobe state again as a popular mosque was being attacked and 17 people were feared dead.
