Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka claims that it will be difficult for him to select between playing for England’s national team or the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Arsenal winger is currently one of the best young talents in Europe today.
For an 18-year-old protege, that is no mean feat, and this has led to an international battle over his services by England and Nigeria.
Though he has represented England at the youth level, he is yet to get a senior call up from the Three Lions.
Various reports coming recently in England say the Nigeria Football Federation has intensified efforts to attract the Arsenal player to feature for them after recently losing Chelsea duo, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, to the Three Lions.
“It’s a tough choice,” Saka told Skysports.“I’m happy to have represented England at youth level but I’m also proud of my Nigerian heritage from my parents.“We haven’t been picked by any team so it’s about staying humble and when the time comes we’ll make the decision.”
Gareth Southgate, current England manager was at the Wembley stadium to watch Saka and Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, during their semi-final FA Cup clashes against Manchester City and Chelsea respectively and the arsenal star believes England’s future looks bright.
“Greenwood and (Jude) Bellingham have so much quality. Whether they are 18 or 28 or 38, they’ve got quality and when you’ve got quality you’re going to be in the team, providing you can apply the right attitude,” Saka said.“I feel the age isn’t really a factor because they’ve got maturity and quality beyond their years. That’s why they’re being trusted I believe,” he added.
