COVID-19 Update: Cases of coronavirus continue to decline as NCDC reports 290 cases

 

On August 10, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 290 new cases of coronavirus. 

From their report, the capital city, Abuja came out with 82 cases while Lagos which currently has the highest number of cases, had the same 82 new infections. Oyo had 19 new infections, while Edo and Kaduna had 16 and 15 new cases respectively. 

The other states with new infections include;  Enugu -9; Ogun – 9; Kano -8; Kwara – 8; Cross River -5; Ondo – 5; Rivers -5; Ekiti -4; Imo – 3 and Borno – 2.

Currently, the total number of confirmed cases has now risen to 46, 867 while the fatality rate has gotten to a total number of 950. The number of people who have tested negative to the virus and have fully recovered has now reached a total number of 33,346.
