COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 221 new infection

On August 26, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control took to their twitter handle to report 221 new infections of coronavirus. 

From their report, Plateau State came out on top with 60 new infections, while the capital city, Abuja and Kaduna came out with 33 and 26 new infections of coronavirus. 

Rivers, Lagos, and Enugu came out with 18, 17, and 9 new infections of coronavirus. The other states with new infection of coronavirus include;  Kwara-9, Ondo-9, Nasarawa-6, Gombe-5, Anambra-5, Delta-4, Abia-4, Imo-3, Edo-2, Ogun-2, Oyo-2, Osun-2, Bauchi-1 and Kano-1.

Currently, NCDC has reported a total number of 53,021 infections of coronavirus while the fatality rate in the country has slightly increased to 1,010. Fortunately, the number of patients to have recovered from the deadly virus is a total number of 40,281.
