COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 296 new infections

On August 27, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) took to their twitter page to report 296 new infections of coronavirus. 

from their report and for the third running day, Plateau State came out on top with a total number of 85 new infections of coronavirus while Enugu and Oyo state came out with 46 and 31 new infections of coronavirus. 

Lagos, which has the highest number of coronavirus came out with a total number of 21, while Rivers, Abuja, and Kaduna came out with 20, 15, and 13 new infections of coronavirus. 

The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Bauchi – 12, Delta – 11, Ekiti – 11, Akwa Ibom – 7, Ebonyi –6, Kwara –5, Ogun –4, Osun –4, Gombe –3, and Niger –2.

Currently, NCDC has reported a total number of 53,317 infections of coronavirus while the fatality rate in the country has slightly increased to 1,011. The number of people to have recovered from the deadly virus is a total number of 40,726.
