On August 24, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 321 new infections of coronavirus.
From the report they made on their twitter handle, Lagos which has the highest number of cases in the country came out with 98 new cases while the capital city, Abuja, and Kaduna came out with 34 and 30 new cases respectively.
Nassarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Rivers state came out with 25, 21, 17, and 15 new infections of coronavirus.
Other states with new infections of coronavirus are; Adamawa – 11, and Ogun – 11, Enugu –9, Edo –8, Delta –7, Ekiti –7, Gombe –5, Ebonyi –4, Bayelsa –3, Kano –3, Ondo –3, Cross River –2, Imo –2, Kebbi –2, Niger –2, Abia –1, and Bauchi –1.
Currently, the NCDC has reported a total number of 52,548 cases of coronavirus while the fatality rate has slightly increased to 1004. The number of patients to have recovered from the virus is a total number of 39,257.
