COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 322 new infections

 

On August 23, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 322 new infections of coronavirus. 

From their post which they took to their twitter page, Lagos which currently has the highest number of cases came out with 130 new infections while Bauchi and the capital city, Abuja had 36 and 25 new infections. 

Edo, Bayelsa, and Ogun also had 17, 14, and 14 new infections of coronavirus. The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Oyo-14, Anambra-13, Kaduna-12, Ondo-11, Abia-10, Osun-6, Plateau-5, Kwara-5, Kano-4, Ebonyi-3, Sokoto-2, and Borno-1. 

Currently, NCDC has confirmed a total number of 52,227 infections of coronavirus in the country while the number of people to have passed away is a total number of 1002. Thankfully, the number of people to have recovered from the virus is a total number of 38,945.
