COVID-19 UPDATE: NCDC reports 453 new infections in the country

 On 8th, August 2020, NCDC reported 453 new infections in the country. From the report, the capital city, Abuja came out on top with 75 new infections, while Lagos which is th epitome of the virus, came out with 71 new infections. 

Other states with new cases include; Benue- 53, Delta - 39, Borno- 30, Enugu- 25, Plateau- 24, Osun – 20, Abia – 19, Oyo -17, Kaduna 16, Kano - 13, Ebonyi -13, Ogun – 9, Kwara – 7, Ondo – 6, Gombe – 3, Ekiti – 2, Akwa Ibom – 1,  and Rivers – 1.

currently, Nigeria has 46,130 cases of coronavirus, while the fatality rate is now at 942. Patients who have recovered from the virus is now at 33,044.
