COVID19 Update: NCDC reports 329 new infections as Nigeria approaches 50,000 cases

 

On August 14, 2020, Nigeria center for disease control (NCDC) reported 329 new infections of coronavirus. 

Lagos which currently has the highest number of cases in the country came out with 113 new infections. Kaduna had about 49 new infections while Plateau and Kano had about 24 and 16 new infections respectively. 

Other states with new infections are as follows;  Edo-15 Ogun-14 Delta-13 Osun-10 Oyo-8 Ekiti-6 Bayelsa-6 Akwa Ibom-5 Borno-4 Enugu-4 Ebonyi-3 Rivers-2 Bauchi-1 Nasarawa-1 Gombe-1 and Niger-1.

currently, Nigeria has a total number of 48,445 positive cases of coronavirus while the fatality rate in the country is currently at 973. Out of the total number of positive cases, 35,998 have recovered and tested negative.
