On Monday, 17th, August 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control took to their twitter page to disclose 417 new infections in the country.
According to their report, Lagos which has the highest number of cases, came out with 207 new infections, while Kaduna came in second with 44 new infections. Ondo, Abia, and Anambra came out with 38, 28, and 21 new infections respectively.
The other states with new infections are; Plateau-20, Bauchi-13, Oyo-9, Ebonyi-9, Delta-7, Edo-7, Enugu-6, Niger-3, Gombe-2, Ogun-1, FCT-1, Kano-1.
Currently, the country approaches 50,000 cases as Nigeria currently have a total number of 49,485 cases. The fatality rate seems to increase slowly in the country with a total number of 977. The number of people to have been discharged after recovering from the virus is a total number of 36,384.
