On August 19, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 593 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

According to their report, Plateau came out with the highest number of cases with a total number of 186. Lagos which currently leads in terms of the highest number of cases in the country reported 172 confirmed cases while the capital city, Abuja, and Oyo reported a total number of 62 and 27 new cases. 

Other states with new confirmed cases in the country include; Delta-25, Rivers-20, Ondo-19, Edo-18, Kaduna-17, Enugu-12, Akwa Ibom-10, Ogun-7, Abia-6, Gombe-6, Kano-3, Osun-3. 

Currently, Nigeria confirmed cases of coronavirus have reached a total number of 50,488 while the fatality rate in the country has reached a total number of 985. Fortunately, the number of people to have recovered from the deadly virus is currently the total number of 37,304.
