Earlier today, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State announced the dates of resumption of Tertiary institutions, primary, and secondary schools in the state.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria since early February, schools in all levels nationwide have been shut, although only graduating classes have been allowed to resume.
Governor of Lagos State announced that tertiary institutions in the state should reopen from September 14 while primary and secondary schools in the state should reopen from September 21.
In the words of Mr. Sanwo
“This decision is not cast in stone and is subject to review of our ongoing modelling and what procedure comes out from the Ministry of Health.”
The governor also added that the decline in the number of confirmed cases was as a result of the resumption of schools in the state.
