On the 28th of September, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) took to their Twitter handle to report 136 new infections of coronavirus.


From the report, Lagos state which currently has the highest number of cases in the country came out with 71 new infections while Rivers and Plateau state came out with 23 and 12 new infections.


The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Adamawa and Oyo – 6, Kaduna – 5, Abia and FCT – 3, Katsina and Kwara – 2, Bauchi, Borno, and Edo each having one.


NCDC has since February when the virus broke out reported a total number of 58,460 positive cases while the fatality rate has slightly increased to 1,111. Fortunately,  a number of 49,895 persons have since recovered from the virus.
