On 31st August 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) took to twitter report 143 new infections of coronavirus.
From their report, Plateau State has topped the number of infections per day for more than a week. hey came out with 35 new infections in the country while Kaduna and Lagos State came out with 21 and 19 new infections of coronavirus.
The capital city, Abuja, Ebonyi, and Adamawa came out on top with 13, 9, and 7 new infections of coronavirus. The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Enugu-7, Katsina-7, Edo-6, Kwara-5, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Kano-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2, Benue-1, Borno-1 and Sokoto-1
Currently, NCDC has reported a total number of 54,008 infections of coronavirus while the fatality rate in the country has slightly increased to 1,013. Thankfully, the number of people to have recovered from the virus is a total number of 41, 638.
