COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 162 new infections of coronavirus

 On the 5th of September, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) took to their twitter handle to report 162 new infections of coronavirus. 

From the report, Lagos State which currently has the highest number of infections came out with 53 new infections while Gombe state came out with 21 new infections of coronavirus. 

Oyo, Delta, and Ondo state came out with 19, 12, and 11 new infections of coronavirus. The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Plateau (10), Ebonyi (9), FCT (6), Kwara (6), Kaduna (5), Rivers (3), Ogun (2), Anambra (2), Imo (2), and Ekiti (1).

Currently, Nigeria has reported a total number of 54,905 infections while the fatality rate has slightly increased to 1,054. Thankfully, the number of patients to have recovered has risen to 42,922.
