COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 296 new infections of coronavirus

 On the 8th of September, 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) took to their twitter handle to report 296 new infections of coronavirus. 

From the report, Plateau State came out on top with 183 new infections while Lagos and Abuja came out with 33 and 25 new infections respectively. 

Ogun state, Oyo State, and Ekiti State came out with 16, 7, and 6 new infections of coronavirus. The other states with new infections of coronavirus include; Kwara -5, Ondo – 5, Anambra -3, Imo -3, Nasarawa– 3, Rivers -2, Gombe-2, Edo -2,  and Akwa Ibom -1.

Currently, NCDC has reported a total number of 55,456 positive cases of coronavirus while the fatality rate has slightly increased to 1,067. Thankfully, the number of patients to have recovered from the virus has increased to 43,334.
