COVID19 Update: NCDC reports 410 new cases as Nigeria approaches 50,000

 On 18th, August 2020, Nigeria Center for Disease control reported 410 new cases of coronavirus. Lagos which currently has the total highest number of cases in the country came out with 210 new cases, while the capital city, Abuja, Ondo, and Plateau had 45, 30, and 21 new cases. 

Other states with new cases of coronavirus include; Edo-19, Ogun-16, Oyo-13, Nasarawa-12, Bauchi-11, Enugu-10, Kwara-7, Kaduna-6, Anambra-4, Ebonyi-3, Abia-2,  and Rivers-1. 

Currently, NCDC has reported a total number of 49,895 positive cases while the fatality rate in the country has slightly increased to 981. The number of people to have recovered from the virus is 37,051.
